Hi, I'm Vickie Wood, Founder and CEO of Judicaid.

Many people know me as Judge Wood. I spent decades working in the courts, watching people fighting all the way through trial, exhausted from the conflict. They were stressed, frustrated, and often feeling defeated by the process long before it was over. It was heartbreaking to see lives turned upside down, not because solutions weren't possible, but because earlier paths to resolution didn't feel accessible or apparent.

After retiring from the Superior Court bench in 2024, I became a professional mediator. I wanted to give people another way—a calmer, less disruptive way—to work through conflict, before it spirals into something that takes over their lives. Courtrooms are an essential part of our justice system, but are often best reserved for when other resolution paths have been fully explored. At the same time, traditional mediation can often be too costly for less complex cases.

That's why we created Judicaid. Judicaid is built to empower people to resolve disputes simply and fairly, on their own time, and in their own language. It's about maintaining agency, finding common ground, and moving forward, without unnecessary drama, expense, or intimidation.

I believe everyone deserves the chance to be heard, to feel respected, and to find resolution without having conflict and litigation become a defining chapter of their life.
